This video from Japan has been making the rounds as a laugh. Leave it to me to up the bummer quotient, but I can’t help but wonder if this is what the future may hold for us, between over-population, the warming of the planet, and the rapid decline of fresh water. Then again, claiming that this pool water is fresh may be a bit of a stretch. But you get my point.
In the meantime, does anyone else find it strange that we’re seeing serious flooding in Ohio in August? A quick look at the U.S. drought map tells the story and paints a picture of what we can expect in the future: Extreme weather patterns that cause some areas of the country and the world to experience severe drought and others flooding. You can see that Texas up through the midwest is getting unusually high levels of precipitation while the southeast and western states are very dry.
