David Brancaccio interviewed Laurie David about her work to address global warming, which was aired on Friday night on PBS. You can watch the interview here, as well as see an interview with Majora Carter, an environmental justice crusader who is working to revitalize her South Bronx community.
To be totally honest, I was pleasantly surprised by Laurie. I really enjoyed her candor and tone. She’s no stereotypical Hollywood type who has gotten behind this cause because it’s hip or cool. It was also interesting to hear how she got turned onto the problem: walking her colicky baby amidst the noise and pollution of SUVs. I have to say from personal experience, walking or biking in the midst of auto traffic gives you a totally different perspective.
